Catalina Completes Acquisition of Cellfire as Major Milestone in Digital Coupons is Reached

One billion digital coupons delivered to shopper loyalty cards in the U.S.

St. Petersburg, FL (Oct. 22, 2014) - Catalina, the personalized digital media company, has completed the acquisition of Cellfire, the leading provider of load-to-card (L2C) digital coupons in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) market. On the heels of this acquisition, Cellfire reached an important milestone: one billion digital coupons downloaded to shoppers' loyalty cards.

"Our acquisition of Cellfire and this exciting milestone reflect the explosive growth of load-to-card offers in the U.S.," said Catalina CEO Jamie Egasti. "With the expanded reach of Cellfire, our retail and brand partners can achieve the scale they are looking for, seamlessly delivering content across all channels and screens."

Catalina's acquisition represents a major step forward for its omnichannel offering, enabling CPG retailers and brands to meet the demands of today's changing consumer by seamlessly delivering relevant content when and where shoppers choose. Catalina's ability to personalize media based on shopper purchase history, coupled with Cellfire's reach of more than 22,000 stores nationwide, will bring relevant offers to shoppers without the need to print coupons at home.

"The digital coupon industry is growing as consumers do more on mobile. As we combine our solutions with Catalina's deep personalization capabilities and large offer pool, we look forward to providing even greater value to shoppers, retailers and brands," said Cellfire CEO Robert Drescher.

Cellfire will operate under the Catalina umbrella, retaining its name, all full-time employees and its Silicon Valley headquarters.
